We the undersigned hereby petition...
"We, the undersigned, ask the French government to apply the strongest possible sanctions against the Iranian consul and other officials of the Iranian embassy in Paris including these three individuals: Mr Emami Ms. Mir Aboutorabi Mr Javadi Several young people from the popular Iranian opposition known as the 'green movement' attended a ceremony on the evening of December 23rd 2009, in an annex of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran (in Neuilly sur Seine) to protest against the events currently unfolding in Iran. Four girls attending the event were taken away during the ceremony by security service staff of the Iranian Embassy. They were held inside the Iranian Embassy building against their will. Eventually, the French Police arrived on the scene and demanded the release of the four young women. On release each person reported having been violently beaten, robbed of their personal effects, treated harshly and photographed. They were interrogated for over an hour in the basement of the Embassy. The authorities at the Embassy forced each of the four young women to sign documents forbidding them to enter any premises belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran in Paris. Their were each also obliged to provide details of their residence in France and also in Iran. The following particulars about their abduction and treatment were relayed: Mr Emami threatened to kill all opponents of the Regime and calling all Muslims to do the same during the ceremony. Ms. Mir Aboutorabi (wife of the Iranian Ambassador in France) threatened the four young girls lives. Mr Javadi, an Iranian consul in France violently struck one of the girls and attempted to strangle a second. In total, 11 people were threatened with death. 2 girls are currently filing formal complaints against the above mentioned individuals for assault and battery. 3 boys attending the event have also filed complaints as witnesses of willful violence against one or more of the four young women."
