We the undersigned hereby petition...
We, the undersigned fans of the NFL's Green Bay Packers, have learned that the team photo for the NFC's Super Bowl representative team will be taken without the 15 players currently on the team's Injured Reserve list. Read the story by Melinda Banks (@ilovemypackers on Twitter) here: http://bit.ly/hnM029. Affected players like Jermichael Finley and Nick Barnett have voiced their displeasure via Twitter, http://bit.ly/gET7kN and http://bit.ly/ie2CqU, respectively. They have also intimated that it is a team policy rather than a league mandate. As fans, we feel that all 15 of these players helped shape this team into the Super Bowl squad it is today and deserve to be part of the photo with their teammates. The photo is scheduled for Tuesday, with these players arriving Thursday. Though it is a busy week for all involved, it can't be such a mammoth undertaking to reschedule the team photo for two later when ALL of the players can be in attendance. The Packers released this statement in explanation of the decision, citing the "sheer number" of players on the IR as the main factor http://bit.ly/eQ7jV4. While that's understandable and every fan can agree that the main goal is to reclaim the Lombardi trophy, if there's any way this can be done without disrupting the game preparation duties, it really should happen. Packers, you've always listened to your fans, and that's one of the reasons we love this team like we do. Please continue this practice and do the right thing for your fans and players.
