Working Women are the Backbone of our Families and an integral part of our workforce yet they often face wage theft, sexual harassment, workplace violence and working environments where they fear retaliation, job loss or deportation if they denounce injustices. @LCLAA 's recent report “Trabajadoras: Challenges and Conditions of Latina Workers in the U.S.,” details the deplorable conditions and abuses that many Latina workers endure on the job. You know who they are! Trabajadoras (Latina Workers) work in the home, in farm fields, restaurants, hotels, schools, hospitals or offices. They are our family, friends, colleagues and members of our community. They are women who toil long hours to help make ends meet with the hope to build a brighter future for their families. Whether you’re a working woman or a man, our lives are touched by hardworking women every day! And this May Day (May 1st), LCLAA is making a CALL TO ACTION to raise public awareness about the challenges Latinas and working women face daily. DEMAND dignity, respect and equity for working women across the nation and WEAR WHITE to show your love and support!
