The OMNIBUS Crime Bill is a tough-on-crime legislation that is currently in Senate hearings in Canada. Crime rates in Canada have been decreasing in the last 20 years, and a tough-on-crime legislation is a waste of money. The bill harbors various problems such as mandatory minimum sentencing, and insufficient attention to rehabilitative programs.
